Volunteer

You can stay at Mae Terra as a volunteer, in this way you help build our Quinta and you gain experience by living self-sufficiently in practice. You help up to 3 hours a day. You can spend the rest of the time as you please, relax on the land or explore the area. In exchange for your help, you can use our facilities.

Facilities

As a volunteer or intern you can use the following facilities on our land:

Camp area: here you can camp in your own tent or one of our tents or tipi.
Communal caravan: with wood stove, cooking facilities, gas, running (drinking) water and solar electricity.
Compost toilet and solar shower: warm water in sunny weather.

You buy and provide your own food, or together with the other volunteers. You can buy organic vegetables, eggs, bread, and fresh goat cheese in our farm shop, volunteers receive a discount on our products! The minimum length of stay as a volunteer is two weeks.

Activities

The things you can help with will vary from season to season but there is always a very wide variety of work that can be done;

Maintenance of the vegetable garden
Harvesting and processing vegetables, fruit and seeds
Moving electric fences for the animals and cleaning the stable
Harvesting and processing medicinal plants,
Implement and maintain food forest,
regenerative landscape management,
Restoration of granite ruins with ecological building materials.
